Tejo… hmmm. Whatever country you’re in, turn over a rock, and you can find a new wine appellation somewhere. What? Oh yeah…. according to Wikipedia, D.O. Tejo is simply Ribatejo, an area 40 miles northeast of Lisbon, renamed. What was wrong with the old appellation?
No matter, this refreshing white wine is worth seeking out. Fernao Pires is the primary varietal. The nose is stony and flinty. The stylish, fresh palate reminds me of apricots with minerally and wet stone nuances. Very good everyday wine.
